Peng was introduced to qigong and meditation at age thirteen when he began learning martial arts. As his physical and martial skill progressed he was instructed to focus on meditation and qigong. The earlier qigong techniques that he was introduced to were more for martial purposes. Compared to the techniques he currently practices now, which are targeted more for cultivating healer's energy.
Peng Her has over 15 years of qigong experience. He is currently receiving a part of his instruction under Arnold E. Tayam: Doctor of Medical Qigong (China), Tai Chi & Bagua Lineage Instructor-Shifu, Taoist Mentor. As far as certificates Peng strongly believes that titles have little to do with skills of the metaphysical. "The ability to demonstrate carries more weight than completing a course and receiving a certificate. Comparing an individual who spends 3/4 weekends earning a certiicate to one who dedicates their life to spiritual evolution (without earning a certificate) is a rather daunting misinterpretation."
Peng Her attended St. John's Northwestern Military Academy from 1996-1999 where he graduated. He joined the Army National Guard from 1999-2007 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Parkside where he received his BA in Communication and Political Science 1999-2004. After discovering that he could use qigong for healing he ventured into Traditional Chinese Medicine and attended Yo San University from 2004-2006 and transferred to the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) where he is currently attending to receive a Masters in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
