Sessions

How many types of sessions are there?

There are 3 types of sessions: Initial, Follow-Up, and Sport Injury.  Individual results will vary according to your constitution, diet, exercise, stress levels, lifestyle, etc.

What determines the speed of my recovery?

There are two factors that determine the speed of your recovery.  These are Duration and Level of Severity.  If your injury or discomfort is fairly new—anything that spans within a 1-3 month period, the results are faster and will take anywhere between 1-5 sessions.  If the Level of Severity is mild to moderate this will also speed the recovery.
More chronic or long-standing cases vary according to your specific condition.  However, anything that has accumulated over time and became worse over time requires more frequent sessions.  If it took years of accumulation it will require more sessions and lifestyle changes.

How long are the sessions?

The Initial Session is 60 minutes and is a one-time, first, session that is highly recommended for everyone.  This session helps rejuvenate, reboot your energy system and most importantly allows your energy system to become accustomed to being-well.  It is most effective due to its profound energetic shift.  Sixty-minutes of qigong therapy + fifteen-minutes of consultation = 75-minute session.

The Follow-Up Session is 40 minutes and is beneficial for health maintenance.  These sessions are highly recommended for chronic conditions; as such conditions require more time and lifestyle changes.
Forty-minutes of qigong therapy + ten-minutes of consultation = 50-minute session.

The Sport-Injury Session is 10 minutes and is recommended for the athletes, dancers, martial artists, etc.  This session focuses on any type of pain or discomfort of the joints, muscles or limbs.  Many individuals contemplating knee or hip replacement surgeries have found this simple ten-minute session to be quite profound.  Ten-minutes of qigong therapy + five-minutes of consultation = 15-minute session.

What happens during a session?

During the entire session Peng will be working with you one-on-one, answering any questions that may arise.  Feel free to test him and ask him questions about what he detects during the session.  You wouldn’t be the first and in no way will he be offended if you do so—in fact he encourages it.
He will have you either lay or sit on a massage table while he scans and removes qi stagnation/energy blockage.  Moving his hands, over the affected areas, several inches above your body.  He may also touch, tap, or press different acupressure points to stimulate qi-flow to those respective areas.  After the session he’ll give you an exercise or set of exercises to practice, according to your constitution, to maintain the effectiveness of the session.

What does it feel like?

While receiving Medical Qigong Therapy or when practicing qigong meditations and exercises, a number of sensations may be experienced reflecting a multitude of energetic states.  These sensations can be magnified when reaching deeper stages of development, as well as particular interactions with others in certain environments.

Some of the Sensations you may expect to feel are listed below by not limited to:

  • Tingling/Static Electricity
  • Warmth/Heat
  • Coolness/Cold
  • Magnetic Push/Pull
  • Lightness/Heaviness
  • Involuntary Twitching
  • Involuntary Muscle Spasms
  • Expansiveness
  • Tallness/Smallness
  • Pain/Aching
  • Turbidness
  • Floating/Sinking
  • Cool/Warm Breeze
  • Shaking/Vibrating
  • Smells of Odors/Fragrances
  • Seeing Lights or Colors
  • Others

Please understand that in no way does this list all sensations that are possible.  However, individual results will vary and these sensations may be felt throughout the body or in specific areas of the body.

What are some of the things I should expect after a session?

After receiving Medical Qigong Therapy, some of the sensations listed above may last up to 3 days or longer for some individuals.  These sensations simply reassure you that energetic shifts have been made and that the Medical Qigong Therapy healing process is still in effect.
Regardless of the energetic modality you practice or have experienced, if it is your first time with Peng, please make time after the session to relax.  You may feel a whole new level of relaxation and quietness—it may take some time to adjust.
After the session, it is important to not schedule any other healing modality (i.e. acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, energy therapy, etc.) for the next 2-3 days as this may undo some of the benefits from the session.
